Our Little Addition

Ava at four weeks

On Friday, December 2, 2011, we welcomed Ava LaVelle Rice into our new family. She was born at 7:46 am, weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 18 inches long.

I'd had my 39-week checkup that Tuesday, and Dr. Newcomer discovered that she was breech. So I made an appointment on Wednesday for a c-section Friday morning - everything happened so fast!

We brought her home on her original due date - Monday, December 5.

Now at over 2 months old, she's smiling and cooing, and is just getting more fun every day.

(Who knew that one day I'd be overjoyed by two gigantic mucus blobs successfully sucked out of her nose so she could eat this morning?!)
